5 Best Items to Buy at Sam’s Club

Buying in bulk at Sam’s Club is excellent for efficient shoppers. I like to stock up on non-perishable goods quarterly. I save so much money on paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, and dishwasher tablets. Sam’s isn’t just good for cleaning supplies and household goods though. Here are the five best items to buy at Sam’s Club.

Vitamins

If you take a multivitamin or dietary supplement, you know that they generally come in counts of 30 or 60. Sam’s offers vitamins by the hundreds for almost the same price as your local drugstore quantity. The large volume also applies to gummy vitamins, which I prefer. My neighborhood pharmacy had a buy-one-get-one-free sale on my favorite supplement. Even with that sale, I would have spent more and received less than at Sam’s.

Fruit

If your family eats a lot of fruit or drinks smoothies regularly, you should buy your fruit at Sam’s. I used to buy fresh and frozen fruit weekly. My fruit now lasts twice as long by eating some and freezing the rest for use later. You can purchase whole and prepared fruits for less per piece or weight than at the grocery store. Just recently, I bought two pounds of strawberries for less than the price of one pound at a regular grocery store.

I usually avoid buying prepared fruit at my regular grocer because the value isn’t there. It may be as much as $5.00 or more for a pound of sliced mango. I was able to get two pounds of sliced mango for $8.00 at Sam’s. I bought two pounds of blueberries for $4.00. I probably won’t eat all of them this week, but I will freeze the leftovers. I have now kept myself from buying extra fresh or frozen fruit to use in my smoothies later.

Books

Sam’s offers all types of books. For kids, it has puzzle books, workbooks for elementary school subjects, and stories with their favorite characters. For adults, there are sudoku and other puzzles, coffee table books, cookbooks, novels, bestsellers, and reference books. They are all at least 10% below the manufacturers’ suggested retail price.

Clothes

Sam’s Club provides casual, athletic wear, and athleisure for men and women. There are button-downs, slacks, polo shirts, running shorts, trouser shorts, leggings, sweaters and just about any casual clothing item you want. There are clothes for kids too. While there are some lesser-known brands, Sam’s also offers Nike, Under Armour, Calvin Klein, and other designer brands. You can take advantage of the lower prices for back-to-school shopping.

Party Goods

Sam’s, like other wholesalers, has a large freezer section. It also has refrigerated prepared foods that are ready for the oven or grill. For example, you can get a chopped rotisserie chicken for $4.00. You only need to reheat.

If you don’t have a grill, you can get one in the store or online. If you want personalized labels on your bottled water, they can do that too. Sam’s offers the biggest bags of tortilla chips I’ve ever seen and the salsa to match. It also has all types of candy and treats. Its bakery produces brownies, cookies, sheet cakes, cupcakes, and muffins. Your money goes further to feed people at a large gathering when you shop at a wholesale club.
